Experience with Horses
I have over five years of hands-on experience in the equine industry, including live-in roles at competitive stables and instructional work at riding schools. My background includes daily care of performance horses, grooming, feeding, mucking out, lunging, plaiting, show prep, and first aid (including bandaging, injections, and medication management). I’ve also supported professional riders at home and at shows, and worked extensively with green and behavioural horses. My experience spans working with children, adults, and riders with disabilities, and I’m confident managing yards, training junior staff, and maintaining high welfare standards.
Key Skills
- Excellent horse handling and groundwork skills
- Confident with green/behavioural horses
- Live-in and stable management experience
- Equine first aid (bandaging, injections, record keeping)
- Plaiting, grooming, tacking up for shows
- Teaching and supporting riders of all ages and abilities
- Independent, self-motivated, but also a strong team player
- Staff rostering and conflict resolution
- Calm under pressure and fast to adapt
Strengths and Weaknesses
What do you most enjoy about working with horses?
I love forming bonds with each horse and ensuring their health, happiness, and well-being. I genuinely enjoy the routine, the challenge of working with different personalities, and being part of a hard-working team.
Is there anything you’d like to improve?
I’d love to continue developing my horse health knowledge, particularly in areas like rehab and therapy. I’m also open to refreshing my riding skills in the future, when settled.
Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
I bring a rare balance of professional skill, emotional intelligence, and deep horse sense. I’ve done the hard, muddy, early morning work and I show up with reliability, patience, and pride in what I do — no ego, just work ethic.
Requirements
What would you like to do or gain in your next job?
I’m looking to be part of a dedicated team where I can grow and contribute meaningfully. A live-in groom or stable hand role with good structure and variety would be ideal, and I’m open to longer-term opportunities once settled in the UK.
Do you need accommodation?
Yes — I’m seeking a live-in role.
Do you have any special requirements for any animals you wish to bring with you?
No.
Do you have any ongoing commitments?
No.
Do you have any holidays booked that an employer needs to know of?
No planned holidays at this time.
