Experience with Horses
I have worked within the equine industry for 8 years at riding schools, livery yards and privately owned yards. During this time I gained my level 3 extended diploma in Equine Management and have recently just completed my bachelors degree in Equine Sports Science in which I have been awarded a 1st class honours. I also have my BHS stage 1 qualification.
Key Skills
What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc
I work very well alone and as a team, and have a lot of experience working with members of the public. I complete my work to a high standard and am always punctual. I also have experience handling and riding a wide variety of horses.
Strengths and Weaknesses
• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?
I enjoy working outdoors and being hands on with horses, as its always been my passion and have always found it to be very rewarding and something I look forward to.
• Is there anything you’d like to improve?
My previous jobs have not required me to clip or plait up regularly so my skills in those aspects could definitely be improved upon.
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
Alongside my years experience in the industry I also have high level qualifications which display my knowledge and skill when it comes to horses. I have worked in a variety of settings, some requiring me to work as a team and some requiring me to be the sole person working on the yard. I am always eager to learn new skills and further my knowledge to continue to uphold the welfare of the horses I look after.
Requirements
• What would you like to do or gain in your next job?
My time at university has given me an interest in the rehabilitation and re-training side of the industry however I would be open to other job roles.
• Do you need accommodation?
if the offer is outside of Nottingham then accommodation would be required
• Do you have any special requirements for any animals you wish to bring with you?
no
• Do you have any ongoing commitments?
no
• Do you have any holidays booked that an employer needs to know of?
