Job Description
We are looking for a positive, self-motivated, well organized and responsible individual to manage our small friendly team on a privately owned yard of thoroughbreds, ranging form yearlings to older ex brood mares.
Previous experience running or supporting a professional yard preferred, Horse care, stable and land management is the main priority. Duties include daily care of horses including feeding, mucking out, grooming, veterinary care and over seeing horses off site.
Minimum Requirements
Maintain high standards of welfare to all horses on and off site.
Comply with Health and Safety, ensuring the yard is kept clean and tidy,
Strong communication skills, able to manage a small team – professional and polite, able to build a rapport with staff, vets, farriers and suppliers.
Physically fit and capable of managing yard work in all weathers.
Organized, ensure feed, bedding and any consumables are ordered and stock levels are kept up to date.
Keep all horse records up to date.
Full UK driving licence, able to drive yard manual vehicles and a 3.5ton lorry.
