Experience with Horses
I have 10+ years experience riding and looking after horses. For six years I was part of the stable management team at my local yard where I groomed, mucked out, tacked up, turned out and assisted with lessons. This included leading the horses on hacks and setting up jumps.
While at college, I volunteered with rescue horses. This was mostly field skipping, but I groomed a select few of the horses.
At university I studied Equine Behaviour and Welfare and came out with a Bachelors of Science. During my second year I volunteered at the therapy yard, where I worked with a range of different horses and ponies. This ranges from leisure ponies to top dressage horses.
Key Skills
My key skills include lone working, looking after my team and mucking out.
Strengths and Weaknesses
I most enjoy grooming the horses, making sure they are well taken care of and being outside while doing so.
On the other hand, I don’t have much experience working with foals or youngsters. This is something I would like to improve
My many years of experience, as well my formal education, puts be above the other candidates.
Requirements
For my next role I would like to be able to travel to shows, but it is not a requirement.
I would prefer a live in role.
