Experience with Horses
Outline your experience with horses here/the scope of your freelance services. If you’re looking for a non-equine or non- yard-based job please use this space to describe your experience skills/abilities and adapt the questions to suit your line of work.
I have been riding for over 20 years and have experience working on professional dressage yards throughout Europe. During and after completing my university degree, I held several temporary positions on dressage yards, where I developed strong skills in daily horse care, lungeing, grooming, and improved my riding. After spending a few years in office-based roles, I returned to the equine industry last year, working for myself as a freelance groom and rider. I am now looking for a full-time, permanent position on a high-level dressage yard in the UK where I can continue to grow and contribute as part of a dedicated team.
Key Skills
What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc
Working as both part of a team and using my own initiative, groundwork including lungeing and long-reining, handling fit dressage horses, stallions and youngsters, all general yard duties, grooming to a high standard.
Strengths and Weaknesses
• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?
I love ensuring horses are cared for to the highest possible standard and seeing them improve in their training.
• Is there anything you’d like to improve?
I would love the opportunity to improve my competition grooming skills as this is an area I have more limited experience in.
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
I’m a conscientious and hard-working person who always strives to maintain the highest standards in everything I do. I take pride in being detail-oriented, ensuring that the horses and yard are cared for to an exceptional level. I bring a positive attitude to my work and to the team, and I’m adaptable and able to handle the varied demands of a busy dressage environment with professionalism and enthusiasm.
