Strengths and Weaknesses
• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?
What I enjoy most about working with horses is the bond that forms through consistency, patience, and trust. Every horse has a unique personality, and I love understanding how to bring out their best performance while ensuring they stay happy, healthy, and confident.
In endurance especially, the partnership between horse and rider is everything, I find it deeply rewarding to see the results of long hours of conditioning and teamwork translate into strong, successful rides.
• Is there anything you’d like to improve?
I’m always striving to improve my riding technique and deepen my understanding of conditioning and recovery management. I would like to learn more about international training methods and how different teams prepare horses for varying climates and terrains.
Gaining this kind of global experience would help me grow as both a rider and horsewoman, and allow me to bring new knowledge back into my own competitive practice.
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
Employers should consider me because I bring not only experience but also dedication and a genuine passion for endurance riding. Having represented South Africa six times and completed over 8000 competitive kilometres, I’ve developed a strong work ethic, resilience, and deep respect for the horses I work with.
I’m reliable, hardworking, and take pride in maintaining a professional attitude both in and out of competition. I’m also adaptable and eager to learn, whether that means adjusting to new horses, routines, or training environments. My goal is to contribute positively to any team I join while continuing to grow as a rider.
