Experience with Horses

I’ve been riding for around 14 years and have gained a solid foundation in handling and caring for a variety of horses. Alongside regular riding, I’ve completed stable management studies that deepened my understanding of daily yard routines, safety, and horse wellbeing.

I’m comfortable working with horses of different temperaments and especially enjoy the process of earning their trust and finding approaches that suit each individual. I take pride in maintaining high standards of care and am always eager to learn new techniques or refine existing skills.

Key Skills

I’m reliable, adaptable, and quick to learn. With clear guidance, I can work efficiently both in a team and independently. I have experience with tacking up, mucking out, and assisting with the day-to-day running of a yard. My instructors often entrusted me with young or more challenging horses, which helped me build patience, confidence, and a calm, steady manner.

Beyond my equestrian experience, I have a background in art and sailing. Both have shaped how I approach my work — art has sharpened my observation and attention to detail, while sailing has taught me balance, adaptability, and calm decision-making under pressure. These skills translate naturally into working with horses and maintaining harmony in a dynamic yard environment.

Strengths and Weaknesses

What do you most enjoy about working with horses?

It would have to be the individuality of horses, each with their own personality, habits, and preferences. Learning how to connect with them, adapt my approach, and see their progress is deeply rewarding.

Is there anything you’d like to improve?

There’s Always room to grow. I’d like to continue developing into a true all-rounder with a strong understanding of horse health, training, and competition. I’m particularly interested in eventing and would love to gain some insight into farriery and equine anatomy.

Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?

I’m a dependable, thoughtful worker who brings calm energy and genuine care to every task. I learn quickly, listen well, and adapt easily to different routines and expectations. My eagerness to grow means I take guidance positively, and my grounded, observant nature helps me connect well with both horses and people.
