Gainsborough Stud (Godolphin), 6-month contract during the foaling season.

Highclere Stud, part time work whilst I was finishing my studies.

Currently employed at a small, private Thoroughbred stud where I take sole charge and have responsibility and an important role within the team.

Key Skills

Turning out – clipping, pulling manes & tails, grooming

Equine first aid

Handling youngstock

Strengths and Weaknesses

• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?

The variety – I love yearling preparation, mares & foals, experiencing the foaling one day and lunging / hand walking a yearling the next. I find it all so interesting and can’t wait to experience more.

• Is there anything you’d like to improve?

I’d like the opportunity in a position to experience more foaling – whilst I’ve been fortunate to attend & aid in 10 or so foaling, I would love to do a season of this and gain experience in different situations.

• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?

I’m hard working and keen to grow & advance in this career, as I am open to anything in the stud industry and have a very can-do and motivated attitude. I find everything interesting and love to learn and experience new things.
