Experience with Horses
Outline your experience with horses here/the scope of your freelance services. If you’re looking for a non-equine or non- yard-based job please use this space to describe your experience skills/abilities and adapt the questions to suit your line of work:
Key Skills
What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc:
I believe my greatest strength is my compassion and kindness towards horses. I remain calm and confident around them, and my experience has taught me to handle a wide range of situations in the saddle. This has given me the valuable ability to work effectively with green or “naughty” horses, as their behavior does not discourage me.
Strengths and Weaknesses
• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?
I enjoy working with horses and animals because every day is unique and full of new experiences. The industry offers constant opportunities for learning, whether through riding, handling, or discovering more about yourself and the animals in your care. There is always something to do, which keeps me thinking ahead. I also appreciate working outdoors in all weather conditions and thrive in hands-on roles.
• Is there anything you’d like to improve?
I am passionate about expanding my expertise as a groom, rider, and equestrian professional at a reputable, well-managed yard. My goal is to gain extensive hands-on experience, enhance my understanding of horse care and yard management in the UK, and excel within a supportive, structured team. I am also particularly interested in learning about grooming at competitions.
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
I am an extremely motivated and driven individual with strong time management skills. I am punctual, reliable, and eager to learn from experienced professionals in the equine industry, always willing to take instruction. I am flexible, happy to work early mornings or late evenings, and accustomed to hard work in all weather conditions. I am friendly, tidy, polite, and have a good sense of humour, gratefully embracing every opportunity given to me.
