Future Requirements
What would you like to do or gain in your next job?
I am seeking a long-term role within a private household or country estate where I can combine high-standard horse care with broader estate, family or household support.
My ideal position would involve caring for a small number of well-managed horses while also assisting with aspects of estate life such as helping with children’s equestrian activities, supporting family routines, coordinating suppliers or contractors when needed, and contributing to a calm and well-organised household environment.
Alongside my equestrian work I have significant experience in international business, client relations and executive-level organisation, having founded and managed global media platforms and worked with senior creatives and executives across the film and entertainment industries. I enjoy bringing this level of professionalism, discretion and organisation into private household environments.
Ultimately I am looking for a role where I can become a trusted long-term member of a family or estate team while maintaining the highest standards of horse welfare and care.
Do you need accommodation?
Accommodation would be welcomed if relocation is required, though I am also open to live-out roles within commuting distance of Winchester, Hampshire.
I am primarily seeking roles in:
-
Winchester / Hampshire (priority)
-
New Forest
-
Surrey
-
Berkshire
I am open to relocation for the right long-term opportunity.
Do you have any special requirements for animals you wish to bring with you?
If relocating, I may need to arrange stabling for my own horse, either on the estate or locally nearby. I also have a well-behaved cat who would ideally accompany me if accommodation is provided.
I am very flexible and happy to discuss arrangements that work best for the household.
Do you have any ongoing commitments?
I am currently working within a private household as a groom, so I would need to provide appropriate notice before starting a new role.
Alongside this role I founded two media businesses which now operate independently with established teams. These businesses require minimal day-to-day involvement and do not affect my availability for full-time employment.
My Christian faith and church community in Winchester are important to me, and I value maintaining those connections where possible.
Do you have any holidays booked?
No holidays are currently booked.
Experience with Horses
I currently work as a private family groom within a high-net-worth household, responsible for the daily care and management of eventing-standard horses within a country estate environment.
My responsibilities include feeding routines, turnout, mucking out, grooming, tack maintenance, exercising horses, and maintaining excellent yard presentation. I am confident handling fit, athletic horses and monitoring their health and welfare, including recognising early signs of illness and coordinating with vets and farriers.
In addition to my professional work, I have raised and trained my own New Forest pony from foal, giving me valuable experience in groundwork, careful backing and building confidence in young horses.
I hold a licence to drive a 3.5 tonne horsebox and have experience transporting horses safely.
I take great pride in maintaining organised, safe and calm yard environments where horses are well cared for and routines run smoothly.
Alongside horse care, I am also comfortable supporting family environments, helping children develop confidence around horses and assisting with pony care and riding preparation where appropriate.
Key Skills
• Sole responsibility for competition horse care
• Feeding routines, turnout and grooming
• Tack cleaning and yard presentation
• Monitoring horse welfare and health
• Handling fit and athletic horses
• Horsebox driving (3.5 tonne)
• Working independently and managing yard routines
• Supporting children with horses and pony care
• Calm, patient handling of horses of different temperaments
• Strong organisation and problem-solving skills
• Discretion and professionalism within private households
Additional non-equine strengths include executive-level organisation, international client relations, mentoring young people and running small teams.
Strengths and Weaknesses
What do you most enjoy about working with horses?
I find working with horses incredibly rewarding, particularly building trust with them and seeing them relaxed, healthy and thriving in a well-run environment. I enjoy the rhythm of yard life and the satisfaction of maintaining high standards of care.
I also enjoy helping children and families develop confidence around horses and creating positive equestrian experiences.
Is there anything you’d like to improve?
I enjoy continuing to develop my knowledge of horse behaviour, training methods and welfare. I am always open to learning from experienced riders and trainers and improving my skills where possible.
Why should employers consider you above other candidates?
I bring a rare combination of equestrian experience, private household professionalism and wider life experience.
Alongside caring for horses, I have worked internationally within the film and media industries and founded my own businesses, which has developed strong organisational skills, discretion and the ability to work comfortably around high-profile individuals.
I also have mentoring and safeguarding experience through teaching and foster training, making me well suited to family environments where horses and children are part of daily life.
I approach every role with integrity, dedication and genuine care for both the horses and the people I work with, and I take pride in contributing positively to the households and teams I work within.
