Experience with Horses

Outline your experience with horses here/the scope of your freelance services. If you’re looking for a non-equine or non- yard-based job please use this space to describe your experience skills/abilities and adapt the questions to suit your line of work.

I am an experienced and reliable equestrian professional with several years of hands-on experience working within both polo and show jumping environments. I have worked in roles ranging from groom to Head Groom/Yard Manager, with responsibility for maintaining high standards of horse care, fitness, and stable management.

My experience includes managing the daily care and welfare of competition horses, supporting tailored exercise and fitness programmes, and preparing horses for training, matches, and competitions. I am confident in all aspects of grooming, tack preparation, and ensuring horses are turned out to a professional standard.

I also have experience supervising staff, coordinating yard routines, and maintaining an organised and efficient working yard. I pride myself on strong attention to detail, excellent horse welfare standards, and professional communication with riders, clients, and owners. I hold a full UK driving licence.

Key Skills

What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc

  • High standards of horse care and welfare
  • Working independently and managing responsibilities alone
  • Reliable, hardworking, and organised

Strengths and Weaknesses

• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?

I most enjoy working closely with horses and being involved in their daily care, fitness, and development. It is rewarding to see horses progress, improve in their condition, and perform well in training or competition as a result of the care and preparation they receive. I also enjoy the routine and responsibility of running an organised yard, working both independently and as part of a team, and ensuring horses are always presented and cared for to the highest standard. Being involved in the preparation for polo matches and competitions is particularly rewarding, as it brings together all aspects of horse care, fitness, and teamwork.

• Is there anything you’d like to improve?

-clipping

– plaiting

• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?

Employers should choose me because I am reliable, hardworking, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of horse care and welfare. I have solid experience working in busy polo and competition yard environments, and I am confident working both independently and as part of a team. I am well organised, take pride in keeping a tidy and efficient yard, and ensure horses are always prepared and presented to a high standard. I also bring a professional attitude, good communication with clients and colleagues, and a strong work ethic, making me a dependable and valuable member of any yard.
