Working pupil at Wellington Riding training for BHSAI, showjumping yard, Groom, then Manager of a large livery yard. Own horses and currently backing 2 youngsters at a showing-focused yard.
Key Skills
What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc
Experience of working alone and in teams, extensive customer service experience. All turn out. Handling, backing, breaking youngsters
Strengths and Weaknesses
• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?
Having had a long break away from horses working in the commercial world, I have realised in the last year or so how much I have missed it and it is in my DNA. There is nothing as satisfying as seeing a horse, pony or rider improve physically, mentally or achieve a goal they didnt think was possible.
• Is there anything you’d like to improve?
I am always looking for improvement and my riding is certainly rusty, although riding youngsters it is quickly getting much better!
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
I have extensive transferable skills from working in commercial roles
