Experience with Horses

Dedicated and hardworking equestrian with over 15 years of hands-on experience working with a wide range of horses and ponies. Confident rider and groom with a strong background in handling young, sensitive, and complex horses. Experienced in both ridden work and groundwork, with a genuine passion for horse care and development. Seeking a full-time live-in position to further develop skills and build a long-term career in the equine industry. Key Skills

• Confident riding ability across a variety of horses, including young and “fizzy” types
• Strong groundwork and horse handling skills
• Experienced with difficult and complex horses
• Knowledge of daily yard duties and horse care
• Grooming at competitions (including showjumping)

Equine Experience Riding Experience

• Riding since age 10, starting in riding schools
• Progressed onto a loan pony, developing skills beyond riding school level
• Experience riding a wide variety of horses, including young and sharp types
• Confident in flatwork and showjumping environments

Horse Ownership

• Owned and cared for two ponies, both with complex temperaments
• Developed patience, problem-solving skills, and confidence handling difficult horses

Training & Development

• Attended Hyperion training, gaining experience in both ridden work and groundwork
• Worked with young stock, building foundational handling and training skills
• No formal qualifications, but strong practical experience

Work Experience Racing Yard (Summer Position)

• Assisted with daily yard duties including mucking out, feeding, and general care
• Gained insight into racehorse fitness and routine
• Worked in a fast-paced, professional environment

Competition Groom (Showjumping)

• Groomed for rider at competitions
• Prepared horses, tacked up, and ensured turnout to a high standard
• Assisted with general competition support and horse care

Additional Experience

• Highly competent in all daily yard duties (mucking out, feeding, turning out, tack cleaning)
• Comfortable working independently or as part of a team
• Strong work ethic and willingness to take initiative
