Experience with Horses

I have previously worked on professional yards for example hunt yards and racing yards. I have grown up around horses and currently own 5, including several youngsters that I have or will be backing as well as an ex racer who I am in the process of retraining.

 

Key Skills

What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc

I work well in a team, however prove confident and safe whilst working alone. I have great attention to detail and I am passionate about the welfare of equines and other animals. I have experience with youngsters and have recently had a foal from my haflinger mare. I am confident in riding all types of horses and have previously backed my own, I am confident in handling youngsters also. I am extremely committed to the industry and think of myself as reliable. I have previously been trusted with the handling of medication and aided in the rehabilitation process of horses including rehabilitating my personal horses. One from colic surgery, and another that I had rescued from an abusive situation where he was unfortunately starved and left malnourished with abscesses

I enjoy the fact no day is the same and i love learning each individual horse’s needs and how each horse differentiates from the other

I’d love to improve my plaiting and clipping skills

I show compassion where needed however also understand the realistic expectations that may be needed in this industry.
