Experience with Horses

Outline your experience with horses here/the scope of your freelance services. If you’re looking for a non-equine or non- yard-based job please use this space to describe your experience skills/abilities and adapt the questions to suit your line of work.

Since the age of 8 I have been competing on the British Showjumping circuit, regularly competing in the Hoys/Royal International qualifiers on 128s, 138s and 148s. In 2023 I won the 148 JC qualifier and had successful results throughout the season.

I have also more recently spent three months in Wellington for the WEF season grooming 6 days a week on a busy showjumping yard, keeping horses looking and performing to a high standard and attending FEI shows such as Wellington International and the World Equestrian Centre.

Key Skills

What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc

I am very good at staying organised and following a routine, whether I am by myself or working along side others. I have gained a lot of experience in Wellington with consistently keeping up with clipping and plaiting the horses and turning them out for shows. I also thoroughly enjoy riding and exercising the horses myself, however I would be open to more training and support.

Strengths and Weaknesses

• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?

I enjoy making a bond with the horses and since it has always been a hobby and a passion of mine it never feels like work.

• Is there anything you’d like to improve?

I would love to further my knowledge with the younger horses and how to help them perform at their best.

• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?

I am extremely hard working and adaptable and will put 100% into anything that I do. I have been around horses all my life and would love to continue being around such amazing animals.
