Experience with Horses
Outline your experience with horses here/the scope of your freelance services. If you’re looking for a non-equine or non- yard-based job please use this space to describe your experience skills/abilities and adapt the questions to suit your line of work.
Have worked with a variety of horses on different work settings including, livery yards and riding schools to briefly working on a competition yard before relocation. I have worked on a college based yard whilst undertaking my level 2 and level 3 in equine Management, where I learnt to clip and trim as well as aspects of show grooming.
Key Skills
What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc
I consider myself a team player but can equally work well on my own and use my initiative, I can work well under pressure and can manage my time accordingly to ensure I am completing any task to the best of my ability. I can clip, plait and turn out for shows however it has been a little while so may to refresh my skills but happy and willing to learn.
I am able to undertake all general yard duties, including mucking out/skipping out. Turning out and catching in, putting horses on the walker when needed, field maintenance, hacking out and riding on the flat and lungeing.
Strengths and Weaknesses
• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?
being able to treat each horse as an individual and understand specific needs/requirements, getting to see horses being horses and enjoying their down time after they have done their job, although some days can be tough the reward is worth it at the end of the day
• Is there anything you’d like to improve?
to improve on my competition grooming skills to the highest standard
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
I am hard working, can work well in a team and have a positive can do attitude to put the effort it when needed, I can take constructive criticism and use it to work to the best of my ability.
