- Working independently and using initiative
- Staying calm and making sound decisions under pressure
- Maintaining high standards of yard organisation and cleanliness
- Observing and managing risk, with a strong focus on safety and welfare
- Clear communication with owners, staff, and clients

Strengths and Weaknesses
• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?
I enjoy providing a high standard and no-compromises attitude towards horse care and welfare. I take pride when animals are in an optimal environment. I find it rewarding to maintain high standards and to see horses settled, well cared for, and thriving in a consistent environment.
I am reliable, hard-working, and take pride in doing things properly. I bring a strong awareness of safety and welfare, and I am naturally organised and consistent in my approach. I am also adaptable and able to work well both independently and as part of a team.
I enjoy the routine, the physical nature of the work, and the responsibility that comes with caring for horses properly.
I also value the quiet, practical side of yard work and the trust that develops over time through calm, consistent handling.
• Is there anything you’d like to improve?
I am always keen to continue developing my hands-on skills, particularly gaining more experience across different types of yards and horses. I am also interested in building further confidence with more technical aspects such as competition preparation and advancing my riding where opportunities allow.
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
I bring a combination of practical horse experience and a professional background in safety, responsibility, and high standards. This means I naturally approach yard work with a strong focus on welfare, organisation, and doing things properly.
I am dependable, consistent, and used to working in environments where attention to detail and accountability matter. I don’t cut corners, I communicate clearly, and I take pride in maintaining a safe, well-run yard.
Alongside this, I am genuinely motivated to contribute, learn, and become a trusted member of a team.
