Future Requirements
• What would you like to do or gain in your next job?
I would like to somehow make my way into the equine industry. It’s quite difficult when you don’t come from horses or have an equine / sciences based degree. Hopefully my law degree and practical work ethic from working with the army reserves will come in handy at some point.
• Do you need accommodation?
I’m based in Bournemouth, so anything a bit further out than that, accommodation for during the week would be appreciated but it’s not a deal breaker.
• Do you have any special requirements for any animals you wish to bring with you?
No.
• Do you have any ongoing commitments?
No.
• Do you have any holidays booked that an employer needs to know of?
No.
Experience with Horses
Outline your experience with horses here/the scope of your freelance services. If you’re looking for a non-equine or non- yard-based job please use this space to describe your experience skills/abilities and adapt the questions to suit your line of work.
I have some experience riding horses, working on gaining more as I go. For now I would probably be most useful for yard work as I work on my riding experience.
Key Skills
What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc
Can work either alone or in a team. Can groom, muck out, the basics of horse care and can learn fast for anything else. As a practical person I wouldn’t shy away from any harder labour too around a yard, lifting etc.
Strengths and Weaknesses
• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?
Every horse is different, teaches you to be considerate and learn what’s best for each of them.
• Is there anything you’d like to improve?
Always looking to improve on everything.
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
I might not have the most experience and I might not come from horses, but I’m a hard worker.
