Experience with Horses
Outline your experience with horses here/the scope of your freelance services. If you’re looking for a non-equine or non- yard-based job please use this space to describe your experience skills/abilities and adapt the questions to suit your line of work.
I have lifelong hands-on experience with horses through private ownership, livery yards, and professional competition/showjumping yards. I am confident carrying out all daily yard duties including mucking out, feeding, turnout, grooming, tacking up, washing off, exercising horses, and stable management.
I have worked with fit competition horses, young horses, and a variety of temperaments, always prioritising horse welfare and safe handling. My experience includes preparing horses for training, competitions, and travel, as well as maintaining high yard standards in busy professional environments.
Alongside my equine work, I have developed a strong work ethic through agricultural and livestock roles, demonstrating reliability, physical fitness, and the ability to work long hours both independently and as part of a team.

I most enjoy building trust with horses and seeing their progress through consistent care and work. I enjoy the routine and physical nature of yard work, as well as being part of a busy competition environment and helping horses look and perform at their best.
• Is there anything you’d like to improve?
I would like to continue developing my competition grooming experience and gain more opportunities working at higher-level shows and with young competition horses.
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
I am hardworking, reliable, and genuinely passionate about horses and horse welfare. I am used to long hours, fast-paced environments, and physically demanding work. I work well independently, use initiative, and remain calm around horses of all temperaments. Alongside practical equine experience, I also bring a strong agricultural background and a willingness to learn and continue improving.
