Experience with Horses

Outline your experience with horses here/the scope of your freelance services. If you’re looking for a non-equine or non- yard-based job please use this space to describe your experience skills/abilities and adapt the questions to suit your line of work.

I’ve been riding for 10 years with 3 years of competitive experience behind me. I’ve brought my own horses up from unbacked to 1.15m. I enjoy “problem” horses that I approach with a holistic mindset yet a stern attitude.

Key Skills

What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc

I can clip, do full show turnout (sewn/band plaits, quarter marks, etc.), school, lunge up to international standard, handle foals as well as stallions, school and teach.

Strengths and Weaknesses

• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?

I enjoy positive results. As a sport with such non-linear progress it’s incredible when you start seeing true differences in horses nature and abilities.

• Is there anything you’d like to improve?

Anything that furthers my own education is a positive to me. Whether it’s learning new skills entirely or brushing up on those I already have, I am so eager to learn.

• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?

I have the South African Equine job standard of EQASA. This is mostly recognised in commonwealth countries but holds to the same standard many other horse manual qualifications do.
Along with that I am also simply put a hard worker. I’m eager to learn and work hard.
