Future Requirements
• What would you like to do or gain in your next job?
In my next role, I’m looking for a long‑term, stable position on a private estate or equestrian property where I can take responsibility for the day‑to‑day running of the grounds, machinery, water systems, and general maintenance. I enjoy practical work, problem‑solving, and keeping a property running smoothly, safely, and efficiently. I work best in roles where I’m trusted to get on with things and take ownership.
• Do you need accommodation?
Yes — I’m seeking a live‑in role as part of a couple. A self‑contained cottage or annex is ideal.
• Do you have any special requirements for any animals you wish to bring with you?
We have one bulldog, Nessa. She’s quiet, clean, and well‑behaved. No special requirements beyond pet‑friendly accommodation.
• Do you have any ongoing commitments?
No ongoing commitments that affect employment.
• Do you have any holidays booked that an employer needs to know of?
I have travel booked in September 2026 due to our relocation back to the UK.
Experience with Horses
I have solid, hands‑on experience with horses from working on equestrian yards and private estates alongside Jade. I’m confident with daily routines and safe handling. My experience includes:
• Bringing horses in and out
• Rugging and un‑rugging
• Feeding, watering, and daily care
• Assisting with mucking out and yard cleanliness
• General barn upkeep and sweeping
• Arena maintenance, including harrowing and machinery use
• Supporting structured routines and safety‑focused environments
While I’m not looking for a primary equine role, I’m more than capable of supporting daily horse care and enjoy being part of a yard when needed.
Key Skills
• Groundskeeping — mowing, strimming, hedge work, fencing repairs, paddock maintenance
• Machinery operation — tractors, mowers, quads, UTVs, implements, arena equipment
• Water systems — pumps, filtration, troubleshooting, and maintaining multi‑pond systems (including managing three trout ponds with 200+ fish)
• General maintenance — repairs, workshop organisation, tool use, problem‑solving
• Estate operations — security checks, waste management, snow clearing, seasonal tasks
• Working independently — self‑motivated, reliable, and able to manage large workloads across a property
• Teamwork — strong communication and coordination as part of a couple
• Equine support — safe handling, feeding routines, turnout, and daily yard tasks
Strengths and Weaknesses
• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?
I enjoy the routine and the calmness of yard work. I like being part of an environment where consistency, safety, and attention to detail matter. Supporting horses’ wellbeing is something I take pride in.
• Is there anything you’d like to improve?
I’m always keen to expand my equine knowledge, especially in more advanced handling or groundwork techniques. I’m confident in what I do now, but I’m always open to learning more.
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
I bring a strong combination of practical estate skills, machinery competence, reliability, and calm, confident horse handling. I’m adaptable, hardworking, and thrive in roles where I can take responsibility for the smooth running of a property. As part of a couple, I offer a balanced, professional partnership with Jade — covering equine care, housekeeping, grounds, machinery, and estate operations with minimal supervision.
