Experience with Horses
Outline your experience with horses here/the scope of your freelance services. If you’re looking for a non-equine or non- yard-based job please use this space to describe your experience skills/abilities and adapt the questions to suit your line of work.
I have worked as a freelance groom for 5 years now and I’ve been around horses for 20 years. I have worked on a variety of yards including, showjumping, full/retirement livery, sales livery, dressage. I have extensive experience in the field. I’m confident in all sorts of ground and ridden work.
Key Skills
What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc
Whether working independently or as part of a team, I’m equally effective and adaptable.
I have experience in clipping, grooming and platting in preparation for shows.
I have solid experience in handling and riding young horses, enjoying the process of bringing them along calmly and confidently. I’ve also gained valuable experience handling stallions, focusing on respectful and safe management.
Strengths and Weaknesses
• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?
Having grown up around horses, I deeply enjoy the entire environment of working with them. I love building that special connection and trust with each animal, seeing them progress, and knowing I played a part in their development.
• Is there anything you’d like to improve?
I’d really like to deepen my overall knowledge of the equine industry, especially by gaining more hands-on experience within competitive yards. I think immersing myself in that environment would be great for learning about high-level care, training, and management.
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
I am highly reliable and dedicated to my work. I really enjoy the working environment.
