Experience with Horses
Outline your experience with horses here/the scope of your freelance services. If you’re looking for a non-equine or non- yard-based job please use this space to describe your experience skills/abilities and adapt the questions to suit your line of work.
I have owned horses since I was 7 years old. I studied Equine Management for 3 years at Shuttleworth College and got an advanced diploma. I am confident around all horses and love being hands on. I have an interest in all things horse.
Key Skills
What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc
Im good at working alone and along side others, I can handle any type of horse and have been around youngsters as I own two yearlings. I also have good skills in organisation and nutrition side of things. I learnt a lot of different skills during my time at college and would love to be able to put them to use.
Strengths and Weaknesses
• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?
I love that it isn’t always the same everyday and you’re always faced with new challenges. I love seeing progress and improvement with them and feeling accomplishment when things go well. But I also don’t quit when it’s hard and find ways to keep going.
• Is there anything you’d like to improve?
My experience. I have owned my own and worked on a few yards but I love learning new things.
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
I have a love for this industry and I’m always striving to do better. I care for every animal and understand they all have different needs. I never do the bare minimum and always go above and beyond to give the horses what they deserve.
