Experience with Horses
Outline your experience with horses here/the scope of your freelance services. If you’re looking for a non-equine or non- yard-based job please use this space to describe your experience skills/abilities and adapt the questions to suit your line of work.
As a USDF Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medalist (have shown through FEI GP successfully with scores above 60% at every level), I bring a proven track record as a trainer and young horse specialist. I successfully develop horses from young horse classes and backing stages through FEI. I am highly experienced in managing all aspects of equine health, coordinating with vets and farriers, handling horses of all levels and ages, and preparing elite sport athletes for competition.
Key Skills
What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc
- Starting and developing young horses (ground work, backing, first competitions, young horse classes)
- Handling stallions both on the ground and under saddle
- Advanced competition preparation, braiding, clipping, bandaging, trailering
- Work seamlessly within a high-performance team environment as well as autonomously managing daily stable operations
- Backed by a University Bachelors degree in Management and Organizational studies (specializing in marketing and business analysis), I bring strong administrative organization, client communication, and a positive, proactive problem solving mindset to the barn every day.
Strengths and Weaknesses
• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?
I love problem solving and taking on each day with whatever it presents. The intricate, rewarding process of building a young horse’s confidence and relationship with their rider, and watching them grow into happy, successful competition partners.
• Is there anything you’d like to improve?
I am looking to deepen my technical education and stay at the forefront of the industry through understanding the evolving international training methods.
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
I bring rigorous training experience and a deep dedication to the daily care and progression of the horses. I am a very hard worker and will show up every day ready to learn, support my colleagues, and be better than the last. I started as a working student for a dressage olympic medalist when I was 14 and have never looked back.
