Could you be our next Senior Groom?

Would you like to come and join our fabulous charity?

Join our Epsom RDA team and help our ponies make a difference.

We are looking for calm, kind and confident Senior Grooms to share the care of our wonderful horses and ponies who help more than 200 participants enjoy riding and equine therapy 7 days a week.

Where? Epsom Riding for the Disabled, Epsom, Surrey Epsom RDA is a small charity, run mostly by volunteers, funded solely by donations and our fundraising

When? 16–20 hours per person, typically 9am–1pm, across a planned job share covering 7 days a week

Pay? £14 per hour We’ll plan days in advance, with some flexibility around the needs of the herd. Weekend-only working may be possible too.

What’s involved? You’ll be keeping our horses and ponies happy, healthy and ready for the RDA sessions.

You might be just right for us if you are:

• A warm, friendly, confident communicator
• Strong horse handling skills including at least 2 years yard experience.
• BHS Stage 2 (or working towards it)
• Able to manage their own workload,
• A team player who will take responsibility for prioritising their own work and making decisions needed on the day
• Able to clip horses confidently
• Lunge horses,
• Administer medication, assist the vet, farrier etc. on visits.
• Help train and guide volunteers and assist with yard & grazing management
• Basic IT skills
• Full driving licence.

Driving license

People Skills

Equine First-Aid

Schooling

Lunging and long-reining

Clipping

at least 2 years experience working on an equestrian yard
