Experience with Horses
Outline your experience with horses here/the scope of your freelance services. If you’re looking for a non-equine or non- yard-based job please use this space to describe your experience skills/abilities and adapt the questions to suit your line of work.
2020-2022 Various Yards. Groom / Rider.Cared for my row of liveries Exercsied and got them ready for shows / events Dealt with admin for the yard and all bookings for services Dealt with younger horses and stallions
I have rode and looked after peoples horses for a long time, 2014-2016 I worked for a show jumper and eventer and then a private family which I preferred, this was only cover whilst their girl went travelling but I thoroughly enjoyed doing all aspects, I would be sole charge of the yard and had a weekend girl in to help. I exercised them and went to shows with them. Also sorted all admin.
Key Skills
What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc
I work great in a team but I am used to managing so I end up in roles with this as an option. I am great with horses who need a gentle and kind soul to understand them.
Strengths and Weaknesses
• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?
The calmness and how grounded you feel around them
• Is there anything you’d like to improve?
My jumping, as I stopped a few years ago and wish I didn’t
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
Because their animals will be cared for like my own, I will go above and beyond in a place I am respected and appreciated. I am extremely knowledgeable on equine health and nutrition.
