Experience with Horses
Outline your experience with horses here/the scope of your freelance services. If you’re looking for a non-equine or non- yard-based job please use this space to describe your experience skills/abilities and adapt the questions to suit your line of work.
I have been working in the equine industry for the past 8 years, and have owned horses for 10. In which I progressed my previous horse up the levels in dressage and showjumping. I have also undertaken the BHS exams where I currently hold my stage 4 “Yard Manager”. I also have a degree (BSc Equine Performance and Therapy)
Key Skills
What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc
I’m good at working alone and in company, I have handled and ridden a range of horses from youngsters, stallions and sharp competition horses. I take pride in horse presentation, wether this be clipping, plaiting, grooming or bathing, as well as general turnout for competition.
Strengths and Weaknesses
• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?
I think it’s a very rewarding job, working with an animal for a period of time and seeing them improve and achieve so much.
• Is there anything you’d like to improve?
I would love to continue to improve my riding, as I’m willing to learn.
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
I’m a hardworking individual who will always put the horse first, to ensure welfare and make sure that presentation remains immaculate. I’ve continued to progress my knowledge within my current role, where I have undergone training for my BHS exams, which I’ve completed, as well as a qualification in equine hydrotherapy.
