Experience with Horses
Outline your experience with horses here/the scope of your freelance services. If you’re looking for a non-equine or non- yard-based job please use this space to describe your experience skills/abilities and adapt the questions to suit your line of work.
Key Skills
What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc
I have several years of hands-on experience working with horses and have experience caring for, riding and handling a variety of horses and ponies. I’m confident with all general yard duties including mucking out, turning out/bringing in, grooming, feeding, tack cleaning, plaiting and preparing horses for shows.
I have particular experience with riding and schooling young horses, including showjumping, and enjoy working with competition horses and helping them progress. I’m comfortable handling different types and temperaments and understand the importance of adapting my approach to each individual horse.
I’m reliable, hardworking and practical, and I’m happy working independently or as part of a team. I’m available for freelance yard work, grooming, exercising and general horse care, and I’m willing to travel for the right opportunity.
Strengths and Weaknesses
• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?
I enjoy that every day is not the same!
• Is there anything you’d like to improve?
I’d love to improve my plaiting
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
I’m hardworking, reliable and genuinely passionate about working with horses. I’m not afraid of getting stuck into the less glamorous jobs and understand that good yard work is just as important as riding.
I have a wide range of hands-on experience and am confident working independently, while also being happy to take direction and work as part of a team. I’m adaptable, responsible and always put the welfare and needs of the horse first.
I take pride in doing a job properly, I’m keen to learn and improve, and I bring a positive attitude to my work. I’m looking for an opportunity where I can be dependable, contribute to the yard and continue building my experience within the equestrian industry.
