• Do you need accommodation?

Ideally I would like to bring my small, well-behaved dog and my 6-year-old ISH mare, but I am happy to be flexible on both.
• Do you have any ongoing commitments?
No
• Do you have any holidays booked that an employer needs to know of?
No
Experience with Horses
Outline your experience with horses here/the scope of your freelance services. If you’re looking for a non-equine or non- yard-based job please use this space to describe your experience skills/abilities and adapt the questions to suit your line of work.
I have been surrounded by horses my whole life, having grown up with a yard at home. I spent a number of years working on eventing yards, including as Head Girl for ATC Eventing, and then worked as a Veterinary Technician at Rossdales Veterinary Surgeons. More recently I helped run a National Hunt stud with four stallions. From October 2025 I led a small team there, including managing resting and rehabbing racehorses for Dan Skelton. Following the dispersal of the stud’s stock, I have continued working for the Skelton family as a Groom on Dan Skelton’s yard.
Key Skills
What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc
I am a good team player and always happy to give something a go. I work well both in a team and on my own, and I have been trusted to run yards while owners are away. I thoroughly enjoy turning horses out to a high standard, whether at home or at shows, and I love watching partnerships progress. I have lots of handling experience, from prepping foals for sales to lunging and long-reining youngsters being broken. I rode a wide range of horses while working for Anthony Clark and would love to include riding in my next role. I am highly organised and motivated, with strong administrative skills that help me run a yard smoothly and efficiently.
Strengths and Weaknesses
• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?
Horses have been a part of my life from a young age, and being around them every day is something I truly value. I take immense pride in my work and get great satisfaction from caring for horses to the highest standard, from mucking out to getting them fit for competition.
• Is there anything you’d like to improve?
I would love to keep building on my experience and develop my leadership skills further, with the aim of progressing into yard management. Every day is a learning day with horses, and I always want to keep learning new ways to give them the best possible care.
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
I believe my varied experience makes me stand out. Working in eventing, a veterinary practice, a stud and now racing has given me a broad knowledge that sets me apart. I also have experience leading a team and running a yard day to day. Combined with my hard-working nature, this makes me well suited to a Head Groom role.
