Based in Surrey between Leatherhead and Guildford, this friendly family yard with 8 horses (4 retired/4 hacking) is looking for an experienced sole charge Groom/Rider to manage day-to-day operations.

This position will suit a proactive person, as the horses are kept on a large 100+ acre site, so there is always something to do. Other staff work on site too, so you would not be expected to do everything, but you should be capable and experienced enough to take a ‘helicopter’ view of things and prioritise, with horse welfare always top of the list!

The owners would like someone who takes real pride in things and is a self-starter with a cheerful disposition (as this is their hobby, it needs to be a nice atmosphere). Vitally, they hope you will come to love the horses as they do.

The owners ride approx. 4 times a week and would love to see the horses happy and nicely turned out for those hacks. You would need to organise farrier/food supplies/hay/work with a yard maintenance person/ragwort vigilance, etc.

There is a mini Kabuto tractor for driving around the farm. Horse walker, x country jumps, menage available.
