Experience with Horses
Outline your experience with horses here/the scope of your freelance services. If you’re looking for a non-equine or non- yard-based job please use this space to describe your experience skills/abilities and adapt the questions to suit your line of work.
Grown up with my parents training racehorses, I have always been involved in working in the stable as well as show riding from a very young age, progressing into showjumping where I competed up to young rider level (1.45m). I have worked in professional jumping yards in Canada as both a rider and groom, as well as undertaking freelance grooming while travelling internationally. I have groomed and ridden for a range of riders and horses, from hunters and young horses through to Grand Prix and FEI-level competition horses.
I have also spent a year as a live-in nanny for three lovely children on a remote cattle station. While I currently have a small marketing business producing high-quality photo and video content for throughbred sales as well as managing communications for a racing stable with over 700 owners.

Raised in the Waikato, at the heart of New Zealand’s thoroughbred industry, I have been immersed in horses from an early age. Coming from a family heavily involved in both thoroughbred training and breeding, horses have always been a significant part of my life and have given me a strong work ethic, high standards of horse care and a practical understanding of managing horses in professional environments.
Alongside my experience within high-level thoroughbred racing, I have worked in professional jumping yards in Canada as both a rider and groom, as well as undertaking freelance grooming while travelling internationally. I have groomed and ridden for a range of riders and horses, from hunters and young horses through to Grand Prix and FEI-level competition horses.
I am a confident and experienced horsewoman, having competed in showjumping up to Young Rider / Mini Prix level. Alongside years of showing and hunters. I take great pride in the care, presentation and turnout of horses and am experienced across all aspects of professional yard work and I take care of every horse as if they are my own. I am hardworking, reliable and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
