Experience with Horses

I have been riding from a very young age, owning my own horses until the age of 17. I continued riding regularly beyond this and started working with horses in 2016. I freelanced to begin with working on various dressage, jumping, event and livery yards before starting full time employment on a professional event yard in 2017. I am able to confidently handle horses and ponies of all ages and levels.

I complete all regular day to day yard duties such as feeding, mucking out, turning out, bringing in, grooming, tacking up, tack cleaning and keeping the yard clean, tidy and organised. In addition to this, I am involved in show preparation and am able to plait, clip, trim and pull as well as grooming at competitions. I also hack horses regularly as well as occasional light schooling and regular lunging.

Key Skills

I am happy to take sole charge as well as working as part of a team. I am good at building friendly, professional relationships with collegues, owners and clients as well as suppliers and specialists. I love getting to know the horses and treat them all as individuals. I am able to work quickly and efficiently whilst maintaining a high standard
