Hi!
I’m Charlie, I’m 31F from West Scotland. I’m an experienced hospitality manager with 20 years (hobby) riding experience and now seeking any available work on a yard. I have voluntary experience on livery and schooling yards and would love to have the opportunity to extend my knowledge and gain experience within the trade.
Key Skills
I always give 110% to my roles and am eager to learn
I have a lot of customer facing experience so if working on a schooling yard, I am comfortable with speaking to customers
I have years of experience volunteering on different yards (most recent yard’s reference on request) and can be left with daily duties to complete; mucking out; grooming; tacking up/down; catching in/turning out; general groomsperson duties
During my voluntary experience, I lead reined on and off road treks and assisted in lessons
Strengths and Weaknesses
• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?
I’ve always loved horses; the gentle giants; the cheeky chaps. Within my years volunteering, I came across so many different personalities. I love their individual personas and working with them to improve on their strengths and weaknesses, as well as working on my own riding experience.
• Is there anything you’d like to improve?
I love a challenge and love to learn new things. I’m easily adaptable and would be comfortable doing different tasks within the yard.
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
I have previous experience on a yard, albeit a while ago, but I’m willing to learn. I know that I would be able to fit in to any environment, whether working solo or part of a team. Once given the opportunity, I’m positive you won’t be disappointed in my work or work ethic.
Requirements
• What would you like to do or gain in your next job?
I’ve always loved the outdoors, and feel like now is the time to change direction in my life. I know I love working with horses so would love the opportunity to pursue that.
• Do you need accommodation?
Yes/no. I have a camper van so the only facility required would be shower/toilet
• Do you have any special requirements for any animals you wish to bring with you?
I have a dog, Jazz. She is a 16year old collie cross. We have been together 9 years as of 07/25. She’s fully trained and has a great nature.
• Do you have any ongoing commitments?
No
• Do you have any holidays booked that an employer needs to know of?
No
