Experience with Horses
I have worked with horses since I was old enough, and have had horses for 13 years. in this years, I have trained my own young horses myself, and have primarily competed in dressage and showing. I trained my top horse all the way up to PSG level dressage on my own, and have experience in competing higher levels with other horses that my trainer owned.
I also have experience working with race horses and working them at home.
Key Skills
My key skills are that I work very hard. I always do my best to learn and do my job to the best standard I can. I also have very good turn out skills, as I show my horses, and have worked for a top show pony producer, so am very capable of plaiting, trimming, clipping and bathing horses, as well as caring for them to a very high standard.
Strengths and Weaknesses
• my biggest strength is getting to know the horses well, and building bonds with them as if they were my own. I love caring for the horses and making them feel good, and also love to see them improve with the work I do with them, it is very rewarding.
• I think I can improve myself by being a more open person. I find it hard to make friends at first, as I am quite shy. however, once I am familiar with the team, I become a lot more open and find it much easier tot all to people.
• Employees should consider me above any other job seeker because I am a brilliant team player, as well as being able to work on my own initiative too. I always get my jobs done to the highest standard I can, and I am always open to tips and tricks that will make my work even better. my time keeping is generally pretty good, however I am a perfectionist, so sometimes can take longer than anticipated to do certain jobs such as trimming and plaiting, as I like the horses to look their absolute best!
Requirements
• I would like to gain more experience in my next job. I would like to learn new things and try new techniques that may work for me well.
• I will not need accommodation, however live in accommodation is something I could consider if I can bring my pony and my small dog with me. I have a full drivers licence so can travel myself.
•I have no special requirements at all, other than I would prefer weekends off as I compete a lot and have my own horses. I am always open to working the odd weekend day if there is a competition you wish for me to attend though.
• my only ongoing commitment is my own horses, which is why I would prefer a weekday only role, however am open to working weekends here and there to attend competitions and help run the yard.
