Experience with Horses
I have been around horses since I was 8 years old, I’ve always had a love and a passion for working with them. Since starting my college course in 2020 doing animal care and management lvl, I have collected over 400 working hours. In both a riding school and as a privet groom working with shire horses. I have had the opportunity to understand and learn how to appropriately handle and care for these animals and the welfare needs they require to stay happy and healthy.
Key Skills
I can preform all basic equine tasks such as mucking out, cleaning, feeding, grooming to show level, plaiting to heavy horse standard, picking out feet, filling hay nets, observing for signs of illness and preparing and cleaning tack ready for a show or event. With working with heavy horses I have also learnt how to clean a cart or dray ready for showing and pulling, also cleaning and applying harness and tack correctly to a horse.
I have excellent time management skills and listening skills. I’m also flexible and will take on any job given to me. I pride myself on being a hard working individual and always put in 100% effort into my work to achieve an over all great outcome. I have good communication skills as well as the ability to work as a team efficiently.
