Experience with Horses
Over the last several years I have had the opportunity to work in various disciplines, including Eventing, Show Jumping, Polo, Hunting and Instructing at a Riding School with a mix of private, livery and competition yards. I have taken sole charge mostly, however have worked as part of a team on some busier yards, and also competition groomed for multiple disciplines. I am capable and confident in exercising horses in all disciplines, however my knowledge for schooling is mostly eventing based. Having had horses my entire life, I am lucky to have years of experience riding, and being around them, including some Pony Club in my teenage years, and now am working my way through my BHS Stages.
Key Skills
I am capable working sole charge or working as part of a team. I am confident doing all yard duties, and working with a wide variety of horses in a range of disciplines. I am also capable in turning out to a high standard for competition, shows, polo matches or hunting. My yard experience also includes tasks such as fencing or harrowing/cultivating an arena. I am also able to drive tractors and can tow.

• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?
I enjoy how rewarding working with horses can be, helping them to improve under saddle or on the ground, keeping them as fit and healthy, and looking as presentable as possible for their jobs.
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
I would like to consider myself a very desirable employee, being very reliable, and hard working. I would consider my own standards very high, completing even the simplest of tasks to the best of my ability. I am also very eager to learn, and will try my hand to anything I haven’t before, making me very adaptable to lots of different yards and situations.
Requirements
• What would you like to do or gain in your next job?
I would love the opportunity to continue working through my BHS Stages. Eventually I would enjoy being able to teach as I enjoy working with people as much as I do horses.
• Do you need accommodation?
No, as long as the work is a reasonable commutable distance from South Somerset, however would consider a live-in role within reasonable distance also.
• Do you have any special requirements for any animals you wish to bring with you?
No, however I do have a horse, she will stay where she is unless the situation suits.
• Do you have any ongoing commitments?
I currently have some regular work on a freelance basis, however this could change if the right opportunity were to come along.
• Do you have any holidays booked that an employer needs to know of?
