Position: Yard manager or Sole Charge (with or without riding)
Location: currently in Hampshire but moving to Somerset.
Salary: 30k pa. 38+ hours / week
Description: Looking for new opportunity in a growing business with the chance to continue training and experience new mentorship. Experience is most suited to running a small to medium sized yard and riding school. Would accept work in a larger yard subject to some additional training and employment benefits. Honest and hard-working individual, currently working 44 hours per week. Looking for stable and more secure employment with the chance to build on existing skills and progress my career.
Experience
9+ years experience as a Yard & Riding School Manager with Sole Charge.
Yard Management, Livery Management. Riding School Management.
BHS Stage 3 in; horse health, anatomy and physiology; fitting tack and equipment; lunging; ride horses over flat and cross country.
BHS Stage 3 Coach; flatwork and jump lesson coaching, lunge lesson, lead rein lesson and, stable management lesson.
Backing and Schooling; Schooling horses for riding school. Schooling for retraining. Schooling for eventing. Backing & Breaking. Handling young horses.
Horse Management: BHS stage 3 equine management, Feeding & Haylage for 23 horses, tacking up, wash down, tack cleaning, turning out & fetching in.
Grooming; turn out for competition, clipping, plaiting, hoof picking, rugging, pulling mane,
Veterinary: Equine first aid, wound cleaning & dressing, bandaging, experience with cushings, mud fever, laminitis, absesses and general lameness, hold for dental, hold for farrier, hold for vet.
Yard work; muck management, tractor driving, building maintenance, stable maintenance, fence maintenance, menage maintenance, weed control, pest control.
Groundswork; Paddock maintenance, Poo picking, mucking out, chain harrowing, fencing, water management,
Riding: BHS Stage 3 riding, individual and pairs dressage, show-jumping, cross-country, eventing, hacking (on public land with dogs, people and, livestock).
Teaching: BHS stage 2 coach (Stage 3 coach pending 2024), young riders, new and experienced riders, elderly riders, group teaching, in-school and hacking.
Partner:
Partner accompanying. Can do part time work if required in office administration and business affairs. Is a trained book-keeper, with experience in VAT returns, Corporation Tax, Payroll and Invoicing. Also trained in Agricultural and Environmental Consultancy.
