Experience with Horses

I started riding as a child but took a break to pursue a career in IT and travel. Upon returning to riding as an adult, I have competed in novice level dressage and showjumping up to 70cm. I am currently a mature student at Hartpury University, studying for a BSc (Hons) in Equine Science. I also hold BHS Gold membership  and working towards my BHS qualifications. I  have worked self-employed at my own livery and equestrian store as well as personal horse ownership. I possess a diverse range of equitation and horsemanship skills, including dressage training and showjumping albeit at low level. My expertise extends to horse care and stable management, covering feeding and nutrition, basic equine first aid, and grooming. Additionally, I have a comprehensive understanding of horse conformation and anatomy, and I am adept at training horses using Equitation Science principles. These skills enable me to provide high-quality care and training for horses, promoting their health and performance.

Strengths and weaknesses

I most enjoy the bond and trust that develop when working with horses. However, I have little experience working in the equine industry outside my own business so I am always looking to improve my knowledge of equine care and welfare in the equine industry.

Employers should consider me because of my comprehensive experience and qualifications, including a BSc (Hons) in Equine Science in progress, and practical experience from running my own livery and equestrian store. My dedication to continuous learning and passion for equine welfare set me apart from other job seekers.
