Experience with horses
I have 25+ yrs experience with horses. I spent my whole youth competing in Showjumping, Hunter Trials, 1Day Events, Dressage and I hunted almost every weekend. My experience in a racing yard came from Hobbs’ yard, Somerset, when I was 16 and I thoroughly enjoyed it. As a child I was always off on pony club activities and camps. I did the lot! I can clip (I have my own clippers), plait/pull/turnout and am a confident rider who likes a challenge. I take a natural approach to behavioural difficulties and enjoy working through issues 1-1 with the animal. I currently am a canine behaviourist, assisting owners with aggressive and confused dogs and providing training in all areas. I find my natural attitude toward behavioural problems, which stemmed from my time spent with horses, has been easily translatable between dogs and horses. I’m hoping to incorporate horses back into my life!
Key Skills
I can easily adapt between working alone and working with others – I’m always happy to just get on with it. I currently offer a clipping service. I can plait, turn out for shows and school/handle young horses. I’m a strong and able bodied individual who’s up for all aspects of horsemanship in all weather conditions.

• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?
I love building a bond with each animal I work with. I am sure of myself and confident and I put the work in to get the results I set my sights on.
• Is there anything you’d like to improve?
There is always learning to be done, you can never know everything, so I’d like to continue to learn skills in whatever I take on.
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
I am one stubborn ass who just loves animals and not having horses in my life for this period of time has left a hole that nothing else can fill. It’s a lifestyle.

I have a dog, she comes clipping with me and knows how to behave, since I’m a canine behaviourist. I’d like to be able to bring her with me if possible. She just sits where I tell her to – She knows the drill.

I have children at school age and one pre-school age. I’m self employed and would like to find something I can do to fit in with school hours.
