Experience with Horses
I have been around horses for around 15years, I started to learn to ride when I was 8 years old and feel in love with the sport. I would volunteer every Saturday and every school holiday on the yard, helping with mucking out, tacking up and leading in lessons. I went on to try for Northen Racing College but due to an unfortunate riding accident I cannot unfortunately ride race horses. After this I went to college and did my level 2 and 3 in horse care and management, with courses including stallion handling, young stock handling, teaching. After I left college I went to work on a private dressage yard handling fit competition horses. I had a few years break and went to work on a riding school for the summer months, helping organise the day to day running.
Key Skills
Attending college I gained the skills to work as part of team, getting the stables mucked out before clients arrived and having the horses tacked up ready for lessons. I also gained the experience to work alone and be sole charge.
