Experience with Horses
My first job in the equine industry consisted of being a senior groom at Charnwood Forest Alpacas. This involved the day to day duties and running of the riding school and treks, i worked part time her for 10 months and my reason for leaving was to find full time work. I then started at Studland Trekking Centre which is my current place of employment where i work full time as a live in ride leader and yard groom. This role is mainly a ridden role with the running of the yard where we have 17 horses including some full liveries. Whilst Working here i have done alot of sole charge work aswell as some separate freelance work in my free time which i have thoroughly enjoyed.
Key Skills
I love working with younger horses and would love to continue this passion further into the competition sector. Ideally id love to have a varied role as a groom with opportunities to ride. I am BHS stage 1 qualified and am confident in all general aspects of care and maintenace and have done plenty of sole charge work. I would love the opportunity to get my BHS stage 2 completed aswell as learn more management skills and am always up for a challenge!
