I have been around ponies and horses from a very young age with my both parents working within the racing industry. My father being a former NH jockey and Mother having been being a bloodstock agent. My sister has also evented up to CCI4*. I have spent the last four years running a successful freelance business that also provided a pet and house sitting service. During this time I was lucky enough to work for Ryan Moore, leading jockey on the flat racing circuit. I cared for his four young children and their ponies during this time. I also have experience working with hunters, competition horses, dogs and various other animals. Due to a change in personal circumstances I now find myself needing a full time live-in position.
Running a freelance grooming business I have developed excellent time management and organisational skills. I am extremely trustworthy and reliable. Due to the nature of freelancing I have spent more time working independently but also really enjoy being part of a team. I pride myself in having high standards when it comes to turning out, yard duties and riding.
I love how rewarding it is to care for horses and support their owners and/or riders in achieving their goals. I like that rarely two days are the same and you can always be faced with new challenges which means you are always learning.
Going forward I would really enjoy a home based groom/nanny position as this is a role I have really enjoyed previously. I would also be interested in low level competition grooming.
I would need accommodation for me and my very well behaved lurcher called Patch who also comes with excellent references.
I am winding down my freelance grooming business however I am house/pet sitting from 8th-15th September 2024. I am also going away to Barbados from 23rd November – 2nd December 2024.
