Experience

1. I have 7 previous years experience at an equestrian centre in the uk and played all roles, groom, riding instructor, receptionist and yard manager and worked many shows from dressage to ODE’s and eventers challenge.  I went straight from school into work at Tumpy Green. I have schooled and trained many horses at tumpy and am a small light weight rider who has ridden from small ponies to fit competition horses. I was a popular instructor who taught kids camps to private lessons and a range of ages and abilities, I have groomed at events such as Bicton 3DE and Badminton grass roots, trained with GBR badminton rider Tom Rowland with my own horse who I sadly had to sell due to moving to Cyprus. I competed South west winter champs at Hartpury and Cricklands final league round at David Broomes. Horses were my passion as soon as I left school and continues to be a career I would like to carry on with.

 

 

 

Key Skills

My key skills are I can handle all types of horses from young to plod along to fit competition horses. I can fit in to pretty much anything from schooling to mucking out to teaching I am a been there done it person. With my previous grooming experience I can also turnout horses for shows, I have also taught kids the pony club badges and worked with disabled children and horses doing stable management and riding lessons. I have the ability to teach a mix of lessons from flat work, show jumping, poles and cross country.

 

 

Strengths and Weaknesses

• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?
– I love the chaos and that no day is the same I love to provide a good, fun and skill taught atmosphere so that customers are happy.

 

• Is there anything you’d like to improve?
– Clipping, I’ve tried it and I’m not the best. I can do it but it’s not my strong point.

• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?

– I have a level 3 diploma in horse care and management. I could really excel in my BHS teaching exams but just did not get the opportunity to complete them in the uk. I can offer everything I am a quick thinker I get stuck in and give 110%, I did have my first aid training but I believe that may have run out now but nothing I can’t redo! I am a customer and employer pleaser and really try my best at anything.

• What would you like to do or gain in your next job?
– Just working with horses again is enough. I have done since I left school but stopped due to moving here with my partner in the army. I enjoyed every single part that came with the equine community.
