Experience with Horses
My last position included sole charge in the management of the stables and Yard, health care of the horses, training the horses, teaching all ages (2years old to 75 years old) and Guiding Rides outside. I have worked for several months in a horse riding club. Tasks included: mucking out, paddock management, feeding, lunging, long reining, care of injuries, training young horses, natural horsemanship, teaching kids and holiday camp monitor.
I have taken care of horses for individual owners which included put up and control fences, feeding, and care, checking the yard and horses basic necessities.
I have experience teaching horse riding to kids (4-17 years old) and adults; beginners and intermediate levels . Teaching through playing, group and individual teaching. I have leaded full day trips and have experience as lead assistant in 4 days horseback trails.
I have a French Galop 6, which is an equivalent in Care/Lunge and Ride of BHS Stage 3 and I have done an Apprenticeship to gain skills for Guiding Trekking Tours and Trips, and to give lessons from beginner to Intermediate level.
Key Skills
I appreciate teamwork but I am also independent and can handle difficult situations on my own. I am happy to deal with difficult and young horses, including Stalions. I have been riding arabic and Icelandic horses, connemaras and few thoroughbred horses.
I have good understanding of people needs, pedagogy and team management and a positive and assertive leadership.
I have experience in any type of Flat work including lateral and longitudinal training. I can Jump up to 1m Fences and 90 cms high cross country. Good TREC level (competition horse trail techniques) I also have participated in starting and breaking horses (wild horses).
Besides a Classical English Riding, I also have skills in Natural Horsemanship and Knowledge of the “School of Lightness” principles by Phillip Karl.
Strengths and Weaknesses
• What do you most enjoy about working with horses? I particularly love taking good care of them, and getting to know their personality. I like to make them improve in what they like and to help them to have a great relationship with people.
• Is there anything you’d like to improve? I would be very happy, if this is a possibility, to improve my Instructor skills as I would be interested in going through the BHS Certification up to Stage 4. I am always happy to learn new skills and improve the ones I have.
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker? I am a kind, patient person. I deeply care about the horse wellbeing and happiness. I am not afraid of hard work or the difficulties that can happen at any moment, but I embrace them as a new opportunity to learn and grow professionally and personally. I am professional and serious, but I also bring joy and kindness around me.
