Experience with Horses
I’ve been around horses since I was 8 years old and I have been in and out riding schools up until 2019 where I got a share 2x a week in competent in walk , trot and canter. I prefer flat riding not a big fan of jumping but will do it if needed with lots of encouragement. I done 2 years at college for horse care and I’ve got my SCQF level 5 & 6 in horse care. In the past few worked for a share scheme and took out potential new riders for the horses and have done voluntery work at riding schools in the past and I also done voluntary work for the riding for disabled too.

What are you particularly good at?
Im happy to lead youngsters be around them too , I can groom and turn out and turn in to a high standard, make feeds , muck out, make hay nets , tack up and I can also buy stable bandages on aswell. I can plait too but I’m not the best at it and lastly I can clip and cut manes and tails but not the best at them either but happy to learn to get better.

• What do you most enjoy about working with horses?
Just being around them in general horses have always had an impact on my life I really enjoy just socialising with the horses and being around them, I also enjoy seeing what new skills they can learn
• Is there anything you’d like to improve?
I’d like to improve on clipping and cutting manes and tails as well as plaiting
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
I’m a happy , time efficient worker and I’m also passionate about the job , I’ve also got quite a bit of experience but I’m happy to gain more knowledge on the job.

I would love to gain more experience as a groom or groom rider as it helps me develop more skills and be better at the job in hand.

No animals need to come with me but I’m not the lightest person so if your needing a riding groom would need to be on a horse that carry a bit of weight
• Do you have any ongoing commitments?
I would need to hand in my notice at my current job which is 4 and a bit weeks and also move up or down from Scotland.
