Experience with Horses

Outline your experience with horses here/the scope of your freelance services. If you’re looking for a non-equine or non- yard-based job please use this space to describe your experience skills/abilities and adapt the questions to suit your line of work.

Previous professional equine work includes: a National Hunt Stud, livery and rehabilitation yard with inpatients and salt water treadmill. Launched my veterinary physiotherapy business in October 2024 after completing my veterinary physiotherapy BSc degree. I treat both horses and dogs, however my clientele is mostly equine. Whilst my clientele is growing I am looking for a position to undertake alongside being a physiotherapist in a similar sector as the business grows.

Key Skills

What are you particularly good at? For example: working alone, working with others, clipping, plaiting, turning out for shows, handling stallions, handling/riding young horses, non-equine skills etc

Key skills include working as part of a team and being left in sole charge. Due to working on a 5* event yard I have been to a variety of different level shows and handling a variety of horses of all ages and exercising these. My skills as a veterinary physiotherapist provides me with a high level of knowledge behind the anatomy and biomechanics of horses allowing me to pick out very specific details of horses and monitor their progress effectively or alternatively any changes in their movement or behaviour that may indicate discomfort/musculoskeletal issues which may require treatment. Throughout my training and business journey so far this has led me to working and treating a variety of different horses in different levels of work and disciplines, expanding my knowledge and treatment skill set in order to provide effective treatments and treatment plans.

I also live and work on our mixed beef, sheep and arable farm.

Strengths and Weaknesses
