Experience with Horses

Experienced with riding school horses and rehabbing ponies with quirks or trauma. Looking to expand my experience and knowledge

 

Key Skills

I have a keen interest in equine behaviour and a lot of knowledge on ways to get the best out of that horse. I’m open to learning new techniques and furthering my knowledge.

I’m also passionate on turning out to a high standard when horses are competing. I work quickly and efficiently to get horses bathed, dried, plaited, tack polished, and sent out, ensuring they look their best so they can do their best!

 

 

Strengths and Weaknesses

I love the sense of connection between horse and human and growing the bond between them. I am very good at reading a horse’s body language and immediately knowing what they’re  thinking and feeling.

I am also very good at formulating a plan on the fly and adapting as I need to. Horses are unpredictable, so I feel that if you make a plan it has to be somewhat flexible.

I am equally good at working as a team or on my own.

If given the opportunity I would love the chance to improve my clipping skills, as it’s the one area of horse care I don’t have a lot of experience in. Not many of the horses I’ve worked with in the past have been clipped so I haven’t had much chance to practice unfortunately.

 

I believe I should be considered for the job due to my amount of knowledge, but the fact I have the desire to always learn more. No one knows everything after all! I also believe I should be considered due to my can-do attitude, sense of humour, and horsemanship skills.

 

Requirements

I mostly want to gain more experience in other fields. Working for a riding school that takes on some very sad rescue cases and re-builds their life into something new and positive is very rewarding, however after working for the same establishment for 4 years I would like to expand my horizons

 

Depending on location. If the job location is far away then accommodation would be appreciated, however if local to me not necessary!

 

If living in on site accommodation, it would be appreciated if I could bring my elderly lizard with additional needs. She’s very quiet and well behaved however sometimes struggles with eating due to her age and needs assistance. I currently don’t own a horse, however if there’s space for me to put one at your yard and you’re happy to let me I would consider buying/full loaning one.

My only on going commitment is my current job, which I would be leaving should I find a new job.

 

I have a few holidays pencilled in but not booked yet, however these are far and few in between.
