Experience with Horses
I have previously worked freelance on private yards being in sole charge of multiple horses / ponies kept at clients homes. These daily tasks included basic care of turning in/out , mucking out , rug changes , grooming.
I have also previously worked as a supervisor in a well established riding school , with a yard of 30 horses as part of the riding school and another 20 horses as part of the livery yard. In this role, I was responsible for the organisation of daily duties for multiple staff members and the care of horses. I also taught basic riding lessons to clients in private and group lessons. Regular duties included ; Clipping , grooming , pulling manes , trimming tails , bathing , rugging , tacking up, cleaning tack , cleaning and sweeping the yard, turning out horses, bringing horses in from the field , riding youngsters and established riding school horses, making feeds , worming , holding for farrier and vet , assisting with basic first aid such as poultices , cleaning of wounds , basic bandaging and applying creams / ointments.
Key Skills
I am particularly good at working as part of a team as well as taking sole charge, keeping on task and managing time well. I am confident in all aspects of daily care & handling for horses of all varieties. I love a clean and tidy yard , sweeping is one of my top priorities after tasks are complete.
Strengths and Weaknesses
• What do you most enjoy about working with horses? How rewarding it is to work with a variety of horses to see their confidence grow, especially young horses.
• Is there anything you’d like to improve? I would love to continue to develop my riding skills and ride a wider variety of horses.

I am a polite and hardworking individual, I am very dedicated to my job and it is essential that the horse’s welfare is top priority in all aspects. I have a variety of experience in different equestrian environments and I am eager to learn.

• Do you have any special requirements for any animals you wish to bring with you? I have two indoor cats that I would need to be able to bring along with me , they are very friendly , well behaved and non-destructive.
• Do you have any ongoing commitments? I am currently employed in a non-equine job that I would need to hand my notice in for – this notice period is 6 weeks.
