Experience with Horses:
I am a reliable and efficient worker experienced in the care and welfare of various types of horses in both commercial and competitive environments. I can turn horses out to a high standard and work well under pressure. I am happy to follow direction as part of a team, but I am also intelligent and knowledgeable enough to make decisions when left in sole charge positions.
Highly experienced in all managerial duties involved in the running and maintaining of a top level yard. Varied responsibilities including managing the yard and staff, working the horses, grounds maintenance including strimming and spraying, minor maintenance work, painting, administrative work and corresponding with other professionals in the industry.Specialising in organisation and forming a routine that allows the yard to run smoothly and efficiently.
I have previously competed my own horse at BE90, unaff SJ 1m and unaff dressage at Novice, I would love to get out competing again however this isn’t a career goal.
Strengths and Weaknesses
• What do you most enjoy about working with horses? I love job satisfaction. Horses are a wonderful way of showing hard work pays off. I think these animals are truly amazing how they are so willing. There is always something every horse can teach us. That’s without mentioning how funny their individual personalities can be!
• Is there anything you’d like to improve?
I have plenty of experience in the industry but there’s always something to learn! I’d love to expand my knowledge more. I have a keen interest in nutrition, Vet med, groundwork and dressage, however I’m equally open to learning more about showjumping, stud work and other areas to expand my experience!
• Why should employers consider you above any other job seeker?
I have plenty of experience in the industry, I’m hard working, dedicated and reliable. Horses are not my hobby but they are my whole life and I would love to find a yard to call my home! I’m super flexible on what is asked and very active-oriented, if something needs doing or fixing, I’ll give it a go!! Equally, I’m happy to do admin work too if required!
Requirements
• What would you like to do or gain in your next job?
Gaining my HGV license would be amazing, as would having the opportunity to gain any other qualifications. I would also love to get back out competition grooming and have regular training on my own horse.
• Do you need accommodation?
yes! Would love to have a self contained flat that I can call my own with my dog!
• Do you have any special requirements for any animals you wish to bring with you?
I definitely believe horses should be able to have turnout to some degree all year round so this is vital for own horses. I understand that this may be limited in winter months.
