Experience with Horses
I’ve been riding for around 14 years, and coaching riders for nearly 8 years now.
I hold my British horse society Stage 3 Coach, Dressage ride, Care and Lunge. I’m hoping to progress onto my Stage 4 in the next year, as well as get my 3 Jump too.
I’ve worked at several different riding schools, from small to large schools, the biggest having around 90 horses on site.
Key Skills
I hold my DBS, safeguarding and child protection and my first aid at work qualification.
I thoroughly enjoy my teaching, and love schooling horses on the flat. I’m happy to crack on and work alone or as part of a team. I’d say my strong suits are probably my lungeing, mucking out (very much a perfectionist), and ensuring all the horses needs are met.
Strengths and Weaknesses
• When working with horses I would say one of my biggest strenghts is my attention to detail, and I’ll always ensure the horses’ needs and welfare is at the forefront of everything I do.
• My main area I would like to improve on is my confidence when jumping.
• I am a highly qualified and experienced individual, with a good work ethic and I’m always looking at ways to progress and better my skills, whether it be through my coaching, my riding or on the ground.
Requirements
• Ideally I’d like to coach in riding schools, or work in a grooms position for a dressage yard/rider.
• Looking for jobs Anglesey/Gwynedd areas, if elsewhere I’d need accommodation but would definitely consider.
• If accommodation is included, ideally I’d like to be able to bring my cat Mitzi, but this isn’t essential
• Short notice period to give at my current job. I do however have a mortgage so if I were to move away, I’d still need to earn an adequate amount to cover this.
